If you have an hour to spare, the Mazo garden club has a pair of spare garden gloves waiting for you. Starting in May and running through June, our garden club rotates our primary school student volunteers through the gardens first recess on Wednesdays (10a.m. to 10:30a.m.), and a few more watchful eyes are always welcome to help supervise this activity.

MAZOS NUT FREE POLICY
This is a reminder that Mazo is a NUT FREE school and as such any lunches, snacks or other items that are brought into the classroom must be NUT FREE. If cupcakes, cookies, cakes and other snacks are brought for sharing in the classroom they must be NUT FREE as well, and have all their ingredients listed. For safety reasons we would appreciate if you did not bring these types of items to school, instead we are encouraging healthy snacks such as fruits, cheese and vegetables.

DRESS CODE AND FLIP FLOPS
This is a reminder, as we enter the warmer weather that all students must adhere to the dress code policy as outlined in the student agenda on page 4, "articles of clothing that allow underwear to be visible or that allow for the exposure of any part of the torso (i.e. bare midriffs) is not appropriate. Spaghetti straps are not permitted (shoulder straps should be at least two finger widths wide). In addition, "short" shorts and micro mini skirts are not permitted. In addition, we would like to stress that we all need to be mindful of the safety of our students when wearing flip flops. During recess, when engaged in physical acitivities, if students are wearing flip flops they will often slip and slide and injure themselves. In order to keep all our students free of injuries and falling we discourage the wearing of flip flops that have little or no support.
